Sweet & Sour Rice Bowl

  • 1/4 cup basmati rice
  • 120 gr black beans drained
  • 200 gr green beans/string beans
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper chopped
  • 50 gr pineapple
Sauce
  • 80 ml chopped tomatoes (canned)
  • 30 ml pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp agave syrup
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp flour/maïzena

  • 1/4 cup basmati rice
  • 120 gr black beans drained
  • 200 gr green beans/string beans
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper chopped
  • 50 gr pineapple
Sauce
  • 80 ml chopped tomatoes (canned)
  • 30 ml pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp agave syrup
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp flour/maïzena
Instructions
  1. Place green beans/string beans in a large pot and cover with water; bring to a boil. Cook on medium-low for 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile bring 3/4 cups of water to a boil on low-heat. Pour in the rice. Stir once; cover the pot and let it simmer for about 8 minutes.
  3. After 8 minutes add the chopped tomatoes, pineapple juice, agave syrup, soy sauce, white vinegar and the flour. Stir to combine. Cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Next add the black beans, green beans/strings beans, yellow bell pepper, and pineapple to the pot. Stir to combine with the rice.
  5. Serve in a bowl of choice and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top (optional).
  6. Enjoy!
