Sweet satay tofu

Satay tofu

Sweet and a bit salty. This tofu with a homemade sweet satay sauce is delish. And you’ll only need 5 ingredients!

Finally! Here it is after many features on my Instagram. My sweet satay tofu recipe. If you like satay sauce or peanut butter you need to give this one a try. The recipe is based off my original satay sauce, which I hereby promise to share soon with you guys. Nothing beats a homemade version that is made with love though (cheesy I know ;)). However, the addition of some extra sweet ingredients is what makes this sauce so special. It’s lush, but still healthy. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Instructions
  1. Place the tofu between two towels and pat dry. You could place a plate on top for extra pressure. The point is to remove as much water as possible from the tofu.
  2. Remove the tofu and cut into 1 inch cubes. (optional: place the tofu in a bowl with 1 tsp recap manis. Toss until evenly coated)
  3. Place the tofu on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes on 200 ˚C/390 ˚F.
  4. Meanwhile, mix the peanut butter, soy milk, sweet chili sauce and kecap manis in a bowl. Stir until well combined.
  5. Remove the tofu from the oven and add to the bowl. Toss until evenly coated.
  6. Serve with a salad (cucumber e.g.) and rice noodles.
  7. Enjoy!
